About Me

My name is Evelyn and welcome to the newest incarnation of the brnwebgrrl blog. It began in October of 1998 on a free server called fortunecity.com. After a little technical mishap there involving the loss of some data, I thought it made sense to purchase my own server space, so http://www.nubianweb.com/brnwebgrrl made its debut. I maintained that blog for the past ten years and then in October 2008 I decided that brnwebgrrl needed to have her own domain. So, here I am. I wrote my previous blog by hand in HTML with no CMS. For this blog I am using Wordpress to save me lots of time and energy and to keep everything organized.

I enjoy blogging very much and I must say that my favorite aspect of it is meeting people from all over the world that I might never otherwise get the chance to meet. This is a personal blog with my thoughts about life, my family, my faith, my art and anything else that comes to my mind. I am a recently divorced single mom with three lovely daughters. I live and write in the D.C. Metro area. I’m a vegetarian living in a household of carnivores. I enjoy baking and I often share my recipes here on the blog. I love yoga, health & fitness and I am a personal development junkie. I’m a knitter and overall fiber artist, but I talk about that on my crafty blog. I am working on writing my memoir on the side while I work as a freelance writer. That’s really about it. Thanks for visiting my blog and for taking the time to read what I have to say.
